In Texas, a horse weighing approximately 320 kg mysteriously got trapped in its owner's pool.
After a neighbor heard about the story, she called the firefighters to inform them that a horse could be drowning. “When we arrived at the scene, the owner was nowhere to be found and three other horses were surrounding the pool,” says Fire Chief Jeremy Lindsey to the American site Today.com. “There is no way to know how the horse ended up in the water, but it was shivering violently.”
It required the combined efforts of five firefighters and two sheriff's deputies to get it out, using straps attached to the fire truck. It seems the horse in question and its peers resided in an outdoor box to keep them away from the cold, where they have since returned under close watch awaiting their owner's return.
As unusual as it is, this event is not the first. More than a year ago, a horse was rescued under similar conditions in Arizona.
