Hello, what is the difference between 50 and 100 gallons? Does the 100 gallons provide a better TDS result? With my 50 gallons, I have a TDS of 18, what cartridge can I add to get a TDS lower between 5 and 10? Thank you in advance for your response

Hello, I installed the reverse osmosis system and analyzed the produced osmosis water (after 1 hour of rinsing as recommended by the membrane's user manual). However, after analyzing my osmosis water with a test strip, the nitrate and nitrite results don't seem to have decreased (the values remain the same as for my tap water): Nitrites: 0.25mg/l Nitrates: 25 mg/l Total hardness: Less than 3 Carbonate hardness: 1.5°dH pH: 6.4 Chlorine: 0 All the values have decreased EXCEPT for nitrates and nitrites after filtration—is this normal?? Or is the installation done incorrectly? I have followed all the instructions in the manual...

Hello, I would like to purchase this Watsea 50-gallon reverse osmosis system for my aquarium. Do you know if all the filter cartridges are included with this model? (Indeed, they are sometimes sold separately with other models...) Thank you in advance for your response, Best regards

Hello, I have a Watsea 100 gal reverse osmosis system. It seems to be properly connected. I can't understand how it works; I take a measurement and the GH is very low (normal), but the following week I take another measurement and the value is higher. Question: is it possible to reverse the insertion of the membrane cartridge during installation? Thank you for your help. Eric

Rinse for about 5 minutes before using it. Michel

Hello, thank you for your response, my old osmotic filter didn't require this rinsing procedure. Does this need to be done every time?

I systematically do it as advised by the manufacturer. Michel

Hello, I bought the Watsea reverse osmosis system for a 50-gallon aquarium. I collected 450 ml of osmosis water for 85 liters of waste water without any leaks, with a pressure of 4 bars. Is this normal?

If you don't have at least a 20% return, something is wrong.

no, that's not right. I have a little more than 1 bar and I fill a 150-liter barrel in a day and a half. You must have a bad connection or an incorrect position of the levers that direct the water flow

Hello! I installed my 190 l reverse osmosis system. I've been using it for 3 days. Today, I tested N2 and N3 on my osmosis water. I notice that the osmosis hasn't changed anything regarding these two criteria. The osmosis water has the same level of dioxide and nitrite as the tap water. I am very surprised.

I have no problem at this level, maybe a wrong connection

Hello, before the first use of the water purifier, it is advised to run it idle, meaning with the tap open, for at least half an hour. Before each use, I run it idle for 5 minutes to clean the membrane. Michel

Hello, for me, the water flows quickly in the red and white pipe, and when I test it, it retains the properties of tap water.

Hello, did you make sure to turn the small white tap (with a blue handle) to the closed position?
3 messages
gerard
Hello, even when the tap is closed, the water flows quickly through the pipes, and it's the hot water that flows a little less quickly, and the water that comes out is not demineralized.

Hello, The water supply goes through the filter cartridge, passes through the carbon filter, enters at the top of the demineralizing cartridge, and exits at the bottom. There is a dirty water outlet with the tap and another demineralized water outlet. It is possible that the outlets are reversed. To be tested. Michel

Hello, does anyone have an exact reference for which type of cable to connect the reverse osmosis system? None of my faucets are compatible, thanks in advance!

Hello Normally it's 20/27. The same as the washing machine supply. Michel

As Michel said, we connect to the washing machine tap. I bought a Y valve with an internal thread of 3/4 inch (about 24.2 mm) and two male threads of 3/4 inch (about 26.4 mm) to connect two water supply hoses (the osmosis system and my washing machine), it works perfectly!

A minimum pressure of 3 bars is required. Michel

Hello, a minimum pressure of 3 bars is required, ideally 5 bars. Michel

No, because you need at least 3 pressure at a minimum.

A minimum pressure is needed for it to work :) in my case two bars, but that's really the minimum; below that, a booster would need to be added.

Hello, how do you remove the red caps to connect the hoses? Thank you in advance. Sincerely, Alain Carlier

Hello, I actually had the same issue and I realized that each "tip" with a red cap is a kind of clip. You'll see when you pull on it, you can see two parts; hold the upper part down and it will come off on its own; it's like a double safety.

sophie
You need to press and pull at the same time to remove them without forcing. Everything you need to know is usually detailed in the user manual.

Remove the blue clip, push in the ring it was holding, and at the same time pull on the red stopper. Use the same maneuver to install a hose, then replace the blue clip.

Thanks to everyone indeed it is not difficult once you understand the processAlain carlier

Hello, I may be silly but I can't seem to remove the little red caps once I've removed the blue ring. Could you give me your tip or point me to a demonstration video? Thank you in advance,

Hello, I just bought the 50 Gallon reverse osmosis system, and as a complete novice, it took me nearly an hour to understand the manual and finally unscrew the hoses. However, after installation, I only have "waste" water coming out and nothing else. Is there something missing? And is it normal that the waste water (which should come logically from the red hose) is clean in terms of parameters (0 nitrate, 0 nitrite, etc.)? Sorry for these questions, but I'm just starting and don't want to make any mistakes.

The blue valve on the reverse osmosis unit must be in the "closed" position (lever perpendicular to the pipe); otherwise, you are in the rinse position, and it's normal for only the red hose to provide water, the nitrite and nitrate levels of which depend on those in the tap water: if there are none in the tap water, you won't find them in the "waste" water either.

It makes sense that there are no nitrates or nitrites in wastewater. However, you mentioned that you have no treated water coming out of the white pipe! This is not normal. Be aware that the protection of treated water depends on the network pressure.

Hello, for water to flow through the white pipe, you need to open the small blue tap of the osmosis system, and if your connections are properly connected, then the water will flow with a variable flow rate depending on the pressure. Best regards, Alain

Thank you for your feedback, the lever is indeed open; it was a matter of pressure, but it's quite surprising that I have to open it fully for the filtered water to flow, whereas if I open it just slightly, the water from the red hose starts flowing immediately. Anyway, thank you.

I just tested my freshly arrived reverse osmosis system. The treated water is dripping, while a steady stream escapes through the drain even though the valve is "closed." Is this normal??? I fear I'm far from the advertised flow rate (190 l/d) with this dripping! Thanks!

190l/day is in the best case scenario, with water temperature at 20° and pressure around 5 bars. Michel

The valve should indeed be closed. When open, it allows for periodic rinsing of the membrane. If your cartridge is properly positioned, you probably have insufficient pressure in the pipe. At my place, with a pressure of just over 3 bars, I get 20 liters of osmosed water in 80 minutes, which corresponds to the advertised flow rate (100 gallons).

I measured the production this morning: just under 4 liters per hour! That reassures me! I feared a much lower flow rate. Pressure at the tap: 3 bars. The water discharge, including cleaning, was about 18 liters, which went not into the sewer but into the garden! Best regards!

I just received my reverse osmosis system. The filter appears to be wrapped in a blue plastic membrane. Should I remove this film or leave it on? Thank you!

It must not be removed

Hello, is it necessary to keep the reverse osmosis system connected to a water supply, or can it be disconnected after each use?
7 messages
jean
Of course, it can be unplugged between uses. Otherwise, it's necessary to install a valve on the water supply line. Personally, I connected it with a "Y" connector and a valve on the washing machine's water supply.

Hello, I'm reaching out to you because I have a question about the Watsea 50 gallon, 190 l/d reverse osmosis system. What is the GH and KH output of this system? Thank you in advance. Have an excellent day

Hello, my basic water is too calcareous, too hard at 0.7 EC. I tested the water coming out of the reverse osmosis system and got 0.0 EC, so the reverse osmosis system works perfectly even though my water is at 12 degrees in winter. It cleans everything.

I would like to know how many liters per hour the osmosis system with a capacity of 380 liters per day provides.

Mine gives 30 liters per hour

It all depends on the inlet pressure and the temperature of the water, but I'm doing less than 10 liters per hour at the moment.

Hello, The reverse osmosis system must be connected to a water outlet and should it be collected in a container? Because I see that there are ones with much higher flow rates. Do some people connect it directly with the aquarium water?

michel
Hello,
The reverse osmosis system is connected to a water supply like a washing machine. You need to plan for wastewater drainage and either feed the aquarium directly or into a container. It's better to take the 100 gallons model. What you need to know is that to get 1L of osmosis water, between 3 to 5L go down the drain.
